The Story Behind the Mission

At just 15 years old, Netta Merino began serving her community through her local church in San Leandro, California. Through years of ministry and outreach, she developed a deep passion for supporting families facing hardship and meeting the needs of those often overlooked. Each Thanksgiving season, she witnessed an increasing number of families struggling to put food on the table, and her heart was moved to make a difference.

In 2011, Netta received a vision to provide Thanksgiving meals for hundreds of families in need. Her mission was simple yet powerful: to address a critical need within the community by providing nourishment and hope—even if that meant starting with the basic essentials of uncooked food.

With a heart for service, Netta presented her vision to her mentor and pastor, seeking their guidance, encouragement, and support. With their blessing and the overwhelming support of the church and surrounding community, the ministry launched its first Thanksgiving outreach and experienced an incredible response.

Fueled by faith, compassion, and a commitment to serve, Netta and her team continued to grow the ministry year after year, reaching more families and expanding their impact throughout the community.

After 12 years of dedicated service, Netta’s vision evolved into the establishment of an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, created to extend support beyond Thanksgiving and respond to a broader range of community needs.

Today, the mission continues with a commitment to serving families, restoring hope, and creating lasting change. Together, we can make the difference that matters.
